Tip: The monthly figure falls sharply the earlier you start — most of the corpus comes from the years the money spends invested.

What this calculation assumes

  • Your expenses today rise with inflation every year, both before and during retirement.
  • Until you retire your savings earn the first return rate; after retiring the corpus is moved to safer options earning the second, lower rate.
  • The corpus is drawn down to zero by the end of the years you set — nothing is left behind as an estate.
  • Rent, EMIs, medical costs and any pension or rental income are not handled separately. Adjust the monthly expense to allow for them.

The result is an estimate to help you plan. Your bank, insurer or fund house will confirm the exact figures, and market-linked returns are never guaranteed.
